Dusty Rose Engagement Session from Catherine Smeader Photography

We’re simply smitten with the timeless tones in this dusty rose engagement session and couldn’t wait to share! Catherine Smeader Photography captured Cindy and Hugo at Memorial Hermann Park in central Houston, taking advantage of the gorgeous trees at golden hour to cast the most beautiful light on this lovely couple. Cindy’s flowing dress in a dusty rose pairs perfectly with Hugo’s dapper sport coat and slacks, bringing a soft and sophisticated vibe to the photos, which works so well with Catherine’s artistic style. This darling couple met while salsa dancing in college, so it only made sense to bring movement to these photos with a few twirls and spins. You’ll swoon over the romantic way Hugo proposed, too. Scroll below to find out how he popped the question! Cheers to this special couple!

From the bride-to-be: “We met salsa dancing at Texas A&M University! I remember it was a Friday night and he called to invite me for a movie. I told him that I would go, but I’d pay for myself, drive myself and buy my own popcorn. Well… none of that actually happened because Hugo laughed and said, ‘Be ready at 7:00; I’m picking you up.’ We talked for such a long time after the movie and many days after. Our conversations were (and are) endless. We happened to be both from Chihuahua, Mexico. Honestly, we just connected. Five years later, here we are ready to spend an eternity together. He proposed standing nearly 8,000 ft above sea level in the historic sanctuary of Machu Picchu, which is embedded within a dramatic mountain landscape. Per Hugo, this was the only place that could come even close to reflecting the beauty of our love that we have for each other!”
