Darling Daisy Wedding Inspo for the Free-Spirited Bride

The Barn at Willowynn serves as the perfect rustic, raw wood backdrop for this darling daisy wedding inspiration, just brimming with carefree and effortless floral design by Edges Wild StudioSince the wildflower looks best in its natural, fresh-from-the-field habitat, a foraged base layer of botanicals was in order. Ying and yang daisies, feverfew daisies, chamomile button daisies and more make up the main floral details. Wild-edged romance doesn’t stop there, though! The talented Taryn Lynn Photography captures timeless elements that take on a vintage charm when paired with her moody photography style, and we can’t get enough of carefree, romantic design. A stately invitation suite carefully crafted by Jo’s Paper Kitchen embodies a deep, muted primary color palette, and the same palette carries over into tablescape details from Lavish Linens in rich, organic textures. This bride models the perfect look for the occasion – a floral-patterned lace gown from Modern Affinity featuring elegant illusion open-back detailing. Embracing her natural curl, she was styled with a low, floral-adorned updo and glowy bridal beauty in shades of bronze, both by AH Specialties. A cake donning simplistic three-tiered design by Lane and Simple is just what we need to satisfy our sweet tooth, and its rustic wildflower design is too cute to be true. Read on for notes from the florist as well as the hair and makeup artist about the vision behind this darling daisy editorial and how that translated in their contribution. Cheers!

From the florist, Hannah of Edges Wild Studio: “As I’d imagine they do for most, daisies evoke a sense of carefree innocence to me, and that felt like such a timely palette cleanser after a tough year that I decided to lean all the way into it as the touchstone of this floral design concept: carefree. I wanted to keep it simple, which for a maximalist designer, meant choosing to focus on a single element by incorporating as many different varieties of it as possible; iterating on the size, coloration and composite-or-single-stem options of the humble daisy in order to maintain that highly textural Edges Wild style that I love to work in. I find that a daisy pretty much begs to be styled back into a recreation of its natural, fresh-from-the-field habitat, so as the base layer for this ceremony installation I foraged some baccharis – a perennial shrub with an airy, branching growth pattern and little dainty leaves that’s actually from the aster (read: daisy) family and grows along roadsides and fence lines all over East Texas. It was at the end of its bloom cycle when we created this set, so the flowering part of the bush had gone to seed, leaving dandelion-esque tufts to bob in the breeze and float away here and there, which only added to the bucolic dreaminess of it all when layered with bunches of adorable, open-faced, pungently herbal-smelling daisies. I think the baccharis was actually my favorite part of the whole design! A truly wild member of the daisy crowd.”

From the hair and makeup artist, Allison of AH Specialties: “For the look we created, we really just wanted to play off of her natural beauty. She had amazing features and the most perfect naturally curly hair. We really focused on ‘less is more.’ We added soft curls and face-framing pieces to create a romantic hairstyle. We lightly pinned her curls in the back to create a low updo and added floral as the finishing touch. For her makeup, we focused on bronzey tones and lots of glowing skin. We finished off the look with a nude glossy lip and fluffy lashes.”
